Abstract

This study aims to determine how well psychoeducation helps vocational high school students become more confident in choosing a higher education major. A total of 143 students took a pretest; then, 18 students with low self-efficacy scores were selected to participate in the intervention. Using a one-group pretest-posttest design, this study involved three psychoeducation sessions focused on self-understanding, interest and ability analysis, and major decision-making exercises. The analysis results indicated that self-efficacy scores increased significantly between the pretest and posttest, with t = –12.487 and p < 0.001. The effect size was d = 2.94, indicating a very large effect category. The study's findings suggest that psychoeducation helps students become more confident when choosing a higher education major. These results indicate that psychoeducation can be used as a structured intervention strategy to help students who are uncertain in the process of choosing their higher education majors.
