Abstract

Program pengabdian kepada masyarakat ini bertujuan untuk menerapkan teknologi tepat guna melalui pengembangan robot penyiram tanaman berbasis mikrokontroler ESP32 dengan protokol komunikasi nirkabel ESP-NOW sebagai solusi peningkatan efisiensi penyiraman bawang merah di Desa Pondok Kelor, Kecamatan Paiton, Kabupaten Probolinggo. Permasalahan utama petani adalah ketergantungan pada penyiraman manual yang memerlukan waktu lama, menguras tenaga, dan kurang efisien dalam penggunaan air. Kegiatan ini menghasilkan prototipe robot penyiram yang dapat dikendalikan secara wireless tanpa jaringan internet, dilengkapi motor DC dan pompa mini untuk mendistribusikan air secara terarah. Metode pelaksanaan meliputi perancangan perangkat keras dan lunak, pelatihan bagi petani, serta uji coba lapangan. Hasil pengujian menunjukkan bahwa robot mampu menurunkan durasi penyiraman lebih dari 60% dan mengurangi penggunaan air sekitar 40% dibandingkan metode manual. Selain itu, robot dapat dioperasikan oleh petani setelah pelatihan singkat, sehingga dinilai cocok sebagai teknologi tepat guna dalam mendukung efisiensi kerja dan modernisasi pertanian lokal.
