PSIKOEDUKASI DAN ROLE PLAY GURU BK: MENINGKATKAN SELF-ESTEEM SISWA
Abstract
In the digital era, challenges to self-esteem have become increasingly complex due to social comparison, self-image pressure on social media, and phenomena such as cyberbullying and digital addiction that can trigger feelings of worthlessness. Guidance and Counseling (BK) teachers play a strategic role in helping students understand and develop healthy self-esteem; however, they often face limitations in knowledge and skills when addressing this issue. The Community Service (PkM) activity titled “Psychoeducation and Role Play for Guidance and Counseling Teachers: Enhancing Students’ Self-Esteem” was conducted to strengthen the capacity of BK teachers through psychoeducation, talk shows, and role play. A total of 42 BK teachers from senior and vocational high schools in Palembang City participated in this program. The psychoeducation sessions aimed to enhance theoretical understanding of self-esteem and its contributing factors, while the role play sessions provided practical experience in applying empathetic counseling techniques and supportive communication with students experiencing low self-esteem. The results showed increased enthusiasm, understanding, and reflective skills among participants in identifying and addressing low self-esteem cases within the school environment.
