AMP Modifikasi Aspal Konvensional Penetrasi 60/70 Menggunakan Polimer Limbah Plastik Polipropilena (PP) Menjadi Produk Aspal Modifikasi Plastik

Peningkatan volume limbah plastik dan kebutuhan pada aspal jalan dengan kinerja lebih baik menjadi latar belakang penelitian ini. Penelitian ini mengusulkan modifikasi aspal konvensional penetrasi 60/70 dengan menambahkan limbah plastik jenis Polipropilen (PP) sebagai aditif sebanyak 10%, 20%, 30%, 40%, 50% berat dari berat aspal konvensional yang digunakan melalui proses pencampuran mekanis pada suhu 180°C dan kecepatan pengadukan 500-1000 rpm selama 60 menit. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa penambahan aditif limbah plastik jenis PP meningkatkan titik lembek (dari 48°C menjadi 72°C), viskositas (dari 350 cP menjadi 2150 cP), dan elastisitas aspal, serta mengurangi kehilangan berat pada Thin Film Oven Test (TFOT), tetapi menyebabkan daktilitas menurun seiring peningkatan jumlah aditif limbah plastik PP. Stabilitas penyimpanan campuran aspal dan aditif limbah plastik optimal tercapai pada penambahan jumlah limbah plastik PP sebanyak 30% berat. Sebagai kesimpulan adalah limbah plastik jenis PP efektif memodifikasi aspal konvensional dengan penambahan jumlah limbah plastik optimum pada 20-30% berat, meningkatkan ketahanan termal dan elastisitas, serta menawarkan solusi pemanfaatan limbah plastik dan peningkatan kinerja perkerasan aspal.
